Overview - elephant.co.uk

In the summer of 2000, the Admiral Group plc launched its fifth brand, a web-based insurer: elephant.co.uk. Elephant offered the UK it’s first complete online solution for finding competitive car insurance. Today, elephant.co.uk is one of the most frequently visited insurance sites in the UK.

Elephant offer insurance to customers all over the UK, from young to old and offer a range of perks to all customers, including: free European cover, free windscreen cover with comprehensive policies, a free courtesy car if you use their approved repairers, a loyalty discount on second car policies, windscreen etching, flexible payment options and secure management of your policies through their website.

As an online insurer, elephant.co.uk are able to offer more competitive premiums to customers because through reduced operating costs. This doesn’t mean you get less in terms of coverage or are restricted in policy options – it just means you aren’t paying for them to heat a multi-storey building crammed full of workers at PC screens. Elephant does have a staffed helpline for enquiring customers, as well as dedicated claims, customer services and renewals lines.

There is a good range of other insurance services available through elephant.co.uk, including home, travel, pet, motorbike and van policies. Also, elephant.co.uk provide a breakdown cover service, and through partner organization inspop.com they also offer competitive personal loans and credit cards.

A unique thing about elephant.co.uk is their ongoing support of animal charities, the Born Free Foundation and Tusk. Both are charities with a focus on providing support to schemes that enhance the wellbeing of animals in captivity as well as those in the wild. The Born Free Foundation received a £10,000 donation from elephant.co.uk when the company launched in 2000 and that support continues today, enabling the Born Free Foundation to help elephants around the world. Tusk is a wildlife charity, primarily focused on offering sustainable support to projects geared toward the preservation of endangered species on the African continent.
